This time next week...

This time next week I will be in the Hollywood Hills. Well actually I will probably be waiting for my luggage at the Burbank airport, having just landed around ten to nine. I will have left my life as a shop girl behind me. When I land back in Seattle Sunday afternoon I will start a new day to day. Its freeing and paralyzing. I plan to use the extra time well. Babysitting, house painting, book reading, and of course embroidering. Oh yeah, and working a little bit here and there. Change is good. Right?

Road Trips are Magic

Our recent road trip to Oregon was full to overflowing. The sun turned my skin brown, we wore our swimming suits all the time and we almost forgot there was such a thing as work. Life east of the mountains is the life for us. My head is still in a higher elevation and its going to take me a week or so to piece it all together. There will be more to come.

Seattle, Summer looks good on you.

This summer my tan line moved up my legs, my freckles are in full effect and we've got so much more sun in our future. Family camps & VW adventures. We're going to follow the sun, find the heat and wear our sunglasses all of the time. Its time for a vacation!!

Somedays, sometime, somewhere.

Once upon a time I was a girl who wrote everyday. Sometimes, if not always, what I wrote would be for someone in particular and it would read like a lovenote, a sweet nothing sent out to the internet about a friend. Somewhere between then and now all of that changed and I intend to change that back. Nothing is the same, nor should it be. But I still have something to say, it just took the right person to remind me. It doesn't hurt that I have a more open schedule in the future. Fall is a time for change and I can't wait to see what happens when the colors of the leaves start turning.

DIY Crafty Feather Hair Clip in 10 steps!

My sister bought me an adorable feather/flower clip for Christmas and I decided to use it as inspiration to make one myself. Here is my first attempt! I will probably simplify on my next endeavor, as this clip has a lot going on. Very much a party clip (Lily agrees, see below). I will make some variations for work next. It is such an easy project for gifts! I made a couple for my friends daughter in the pink/purple/lace variety and they were very well received.
