If only I had the dollar bills. Sure I have a thousand pairs of sunglasses, but none as cool as these.

Summer swooning.

We're heading out of the city this weekend and the sunshine will be there. Strawberry tequila and sandals will be there too. Looking at summer dresses makes the next two days feel impossibly long. In the meantime I will get a pedicure and pack my bags. Last years summer dresses will have to suffice.

To paper a wall.

Once upon a star I wished for the perfect wallpaper for my sewing room/office (and I've gone thru many short lived love affairs with different wallpapers). Far far away in Sweden Lisa Bengtsson decided to make it. It arrived in my mailbox a week or so ago. Now I just have to figure out how to put it up on the wall. This should be easy. Yeah, right.

Where we've been.

I really do intend to make more frequent updates, I swear. We've been weeding, gardening, BBQing, spring cleaning, turning 30, visiting old friends, beach combing, flying to phoenix, hanging out with our families, drinking margaritas, loafing, giving kitty kisses, painting, painting, painting, getting sick and feeling better, paying bills, painting our nails, working, working and working more, cutting our hair, cutting our lawn, and doing nothing at all. Its been busy. But I haven't forgotten my intentions, just neglected them a bit in light of you know, life.

Boo's Booze

My one handcrafted gift this holiday season: homemade labels for Auntie Boo's various liquor infusions. I ended up buying too many of my gifts this last Christmas and didn't even manage a holiday card. I hope that 2009 has more completed projects than 2008. Next up: an upholstery class at Pacific Fabrics and Crafts. I will walk in with a $9 faded wingback chair from Goodwill and leave with a fully refinished and reupholstered chair for our living room. The class fee is non-refundable so I can't not go. Anyone who wants to join me, please do! Its the second & third weekends of February.

NYE
Happy 2009! This is the year I turn thirty30thirty!! I am terrified and ridiculous when thinking about it. Am I a real 30 year old person? Because I thought 30 would feel so so much older. I know I won't start shopping exclusively at REI and wearing fleece and trainers as of March 16th but I swear I thought I would feel something bigger. Ask me in three months. Ask me when the clock strikes 12 on March 16th and I will tell you if I feel the urge to drive a Suburu and start family planning. Until then I will grow my hair out, buy silly shoes I will only wear once or maybe even twice and I will love being in my 20's, albiet late late 20's.

Christmas Love Explosion
Few things in life can make me smile as much as this video. Christmas was an explosion of love. Simple. No traveling. Snow falling. Pancake breakfast. A night of cocktails and shared love that ended with us watching this video. It stars my friends daughter Adia (she's the one with the tears), her BFF Max and their mutual BFF Danielle. Sometimes you need to be reminded that Christmas is shared, silly, and can make you feel like a kid again in the best possible way.
